Mission

As the marketing arm for the City of Prairie du Chien, the Prairie du Chien Economic Development Corporation (EDC) mission is to provide a comprehensive, area-wide approach to economic development with the objectives of quality job creation, business retention and improved quality of life.

About the Prairie du Chien Economic Development Corporation

Economic development is a process that takes great vision, team work, and follow-through by a vast array of community leaders. The Prairie du Chien Economic Development Corporation has proven that it is committed to the economic development of the Prairie du Chien and Crawford County Area. The very existence of the Prairie du Chien EDC is dedicated to continually provide extraordinary growth opportunities in a fiercely competitive environment that has long eclipsed competing against our neighbors, but rather, are competing in a global arena for new jobs and capital investment.

The Prairie du Chien Economic Development Corporation plays a critical role in the community leadership structure. Partnering with the Prairie du Chien EDC are two other separately funded organizations: The Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce and the Prairie du Chien Downtown Revitalization Inc.

The Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce works to strengthen the long-term economic vitality of its 360+ business members and the community. This is accomplished through a variety of services focusing on exposure, networking, education, and leadership development. The Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce serves as the contact point for the Economic Development Corporation providing support and other resources.

The Prairie du Chien Economic Development Corporation staff of volunteers work closely with the Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce, Prairie du Chien City Council, and the Prairie du Chien Downtown Revitalization Inc. to promote a unified approach to economic development
